From MyRegatta to something extraordinary

It started as MyRegatta — the old regatta management system built over a decade ago when options were limited and the ambition was simple: make race day less chaotic.

It worked. Race after race, season after season. But technology had moved on. The codebase hadn't. Maintaining it was becoming harder than running the regattas themselves.

So we rebuilt it. Not just a refresh — a complete reimagining. Modern architecture, real-time screens, and race-day features that weren't possible before.

"Everything we learned from years at the water's edge, now in a system worthy of the sport."

The gaffa tape couldn't hold it anymore
It ran regattas faithfully for years. It just got old and outdated..the gaffa tape wouldn't hold it anymore...But it worked.
The decision
Time to rebuild properly
Every lesson from real race days went in. Every edge case — the scratch on race morning, the dead heat, the Masters handicap, the band that doesn't import cleanly.

Why this is different

Built by a
rower.

This isn't a generic event management system adapted for rowing. Every screen, every feature, every edge case was shaped by someone who has stood on the bank at 6am, run the start list, and dealt with a last-minute scratch ten minutes before race time.

"Everything we learned from years at the water's edge, now in a system worthy of the sport."
The commentator screen is high-contrast because we know tablets are used outdoors in direct sunlight at 10am.
The handicap system exists because Masters events need it, and the old system didn't have it.
The PDF programme prints exactly right because we've printed hundreds of them and know what marshals actually need to read.
The re-draw logic handles scratches gracefully because race morning scratches are not edge cases — they're normal.
